The chef Joel rips off everything on "his" menu from other talented chefs in Jackson and famous restaurants without crediting them or even remotely trying to make it his own. It is stolen verbatim. IT IS INSANE!
Fancy hotel rooms were nice. They could use a few more amenities for the price such as maybe a 2+ cu ft mini fridge as opposed to the .5 cu ft. A microwave would be nice. Other than that the room was great. Bed was comfy nice small table a big tub and shower and cool sliding doors. It was great for couples.
The service was good our waitress / honna was well informed but once we complained she no longer cared. She did remove the halibut from the bill.
Had dinner on a Monday night, we ordered mussels & the octopus along with bread & butter. Mussels were very nice had nice flavor & were cooked well. The octopus looked beautiful but was cold tough and very small portion. The bread & butter was basic but you had to pay $4.00, not worth it.
For the entrees we had market fish which was halibut and was bland tasteless & cold. We also had the 8 oz fillet & it was cooked as ordered and was very good as well as the bernaise sauce $3.00 extra.
My wife and I are locals. We don't go out very often but try to on special occasions like last year on our anniversary. We decided on the White Buffalo Club due to its quiet, cosy atmosphere and boy did it deliver! Our steaks were perfect and our service was impeccable even in the "hard to get good help capital of the world" Jackson. Best meal of all times. The only problem is that my wife only wants to go here for all of anniversary dinners from here on out!
This place was pretty good, however, there were a few things that stood out that kept me from giving it 5 stars. The atmosphere was nice. The menu short, like fine dining restaurant should be. When menus are this condensed, I expect each dish to be phenomenal. The bone marrow was delicious. Rich and spreadable. The steak was pretty good, but the trout was almost flavorless. Our server had two tables, and our meal took almost two hours. It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken after we got our menus. Overall, good restaurant. But I expect a little more for the price paid.
