The food was just ok and so was the service. It was slow so I don't understand why
It disgusts me that an upscale resort has such terrible dining options. If you're going to Jackson, save your money and stay somewhere else.
The service was ridiculously slow at this place. The food was ok, but definitely did not deserve the price it carried on the menu. When the staff faced the smallest difficulty in part of the service process, they handled it in an awkward and embarrassing manner. The music was loud and obnoxious. The best part of this restaurant was making jokes about it.
We sat down and opened our menus to find that we had 2 different menus among us and had no clue which was the real menu. We waited awhile for our server to greet us, but the hostesses and food runners could answer a single question about the menu while we waited. When the server finally arrived, she was unfriendly and acted as if she couldn't care less about us (later on, I spotted her counting tips, so she was probably excited to leave for the night).
We ordered beer (slow to arrive but was decent) then an appetizer (wings), followed by our entrees. It was a much longer wait than I would have expected for a mostly empty restaurant, but our entrees finally came with no sign of the wings. The foodrunners who brought the food said we'd have to ask the server about the wings. The server said she'd check on them, then disappeared again. By the time we were halfway through the meal, we asked her to bring them out if they were ready but to forget about them if they weren't close to being done. She went to check on them and never let us know, so we assumed they'd been deleted, but it would've been nice to know whether or not they were coming. Meanwhile, the foodrunner delivered my soup without a spoon, but kept walking away as I called out to him. I watched my family eat as I waited for the server to check in, but the minutes ticked by. I walked up to the bar to ask for a spoon, but the 3 employees there completely ignored me. Finally, the waitress returned and said she'd get me a spoon. It didn't arrive until after I finished my sandwich.
Out of my first choice on the dinner menu. Pork loin was tough. Daughters burger ordered well done but pink. Wife's chicken was chicken. Beer was great!
The best part about the whole dining experience was having cute little blue mason jars for our water. I can't believe that was the only good thing.
After our plates were cleared and taken away, we waited another very long time for her to bring the check, for which we had to call after her to bring. We left as soon as we could. Nobody talked to us on the way out.
Great quality of food, but surprising for the price. I understand you get what you pay for, but some of the menu items seemed a little fluffed up for what they were. The staff was AWESOME, and took care of us very well.
You're far better off walking to downtown for any meal. The service at Haydens Post was astonishingly bad. My family and I arrived around 8pm to find a mostly empty restaurant. The hostess asked us whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. We said outside, to which she responded that outside "would be a really long wait." So, she sat us inside in the corner table that only had a view of the diners outside... no view of the mountains like the tables across the room.
