June 2015- I lost my Debit Card on the Madison river in Yellowstone, I had only my ID and $20 on me, I asked around town if there is any place i could stay as i was down on my luck , i was directed to go to Good Samaritan. Stranded/Getting Hungry and smelling like a River Fish was not good, I ran into the director at this facility and not only did i get to stay for a few days they bought me a 1 way ticket (72) hour bus ride back to Georgia. I met a few good people while i was there, and made a friend in Brad, Every year i go back to do fishing and camping in Yellowstone and make sure i pay a visit.
This place is an incredible resource for Jackson. They just give and expect nothing in return
Sometimes they will help people and sometimes they dont care about you at the mission. Lame directors and poor personal interest in people. More like being on probation than a shelter to help people. Sad. Especially how they want to dictate if your worth. The 300 they wana charge some people and not others. The lame personal interest uncompasionate staff left a lingering bad experiance.
You can shower for $1. They supply soap, shampoo and towels. Bring your own washcloth though.
It serves a purpose.
